Foundation Stage 1

In the Foundation Stage we follow the key outcomes and objectives outlined in the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. However, in order to provide an all-inclusive curriculum, we ensure that it is delivered in a way that is meaningful and challenging for all of our children. In FS, our curriculum is delivered thematically to ensure the children apply their knowledge to real life contexts. The children learn through exploratory, hands on play as they are encouraged to take their learning in whichever direction they desire. All teachers in FS provide a safe setting, where children feel confident to take risks, share their ideas and be creative in an exciting, warm, and friendly environment.

Foundation Stage 2

The Primary Curriculum at Dubai Heights Academy is delivered through the National Curriculum for England. This encompasses our core subjects at the heart of our curriculum; Literacy, Maths and Science. We further enrich our curriculum with Geography, History, Design Technology, Art, PSHE, Computing, UAE Social Studies, Moral Education from Years 1 – 6. Across all phases of the school, we strive to teach our subjects in an integrated way so that to provide a high standard of teaching and learning which is enjoyable, purposeful and memorable for all children.

Our goal is to foster a life-long love of learning, through adopting a highly practical and cross-curricular approach. The primary curriculum aims to deliver a twenty-first century education that equips our children with the skills required to be independent and responsible citizens. We strive to stimulate the curiosity in all our students, encourage them to search for relevant information and ideas, and challenge them to use or apply what they discover in new contexts or in new ways.

Being an international school in the ever-growing city of Dubai, filled with students from all over the world, our curriculum enables the children to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of living in the UAE. Our Arabic language, UAE Social Studies and Moral Education programmes explore these concepts and give children the opportunities to celebrate living in this wonderful, dynamic country.
